I loved seeing Hadley open up more with Beck， Mason， and West。 Cam kind of broke my heart and made me want to shake him。 Hadley is fierce， and still has more secrets。 I can’t wait to see what else happens and how her secrets intersect with the guys :）

I thought Broken Trust was great， then I read Brutal Lies and it was even better。 Brutal Lies is book 2 of the Pacific Prep series which must be read in order。 Brutal Lies picked up exactly where Broken Trust left off。 Hadley continues to fight her demons and stand up for herself in a way that is truly admirable。 Not many people could go through what she did and come out strong enough to continue fighting as she has， and we don't even know the true extent of the abuse she suffered yet。 Cam needs I thought Broken Trust was great， then I read Brutal Lies and it was even better。 Brutal Lies is book 2 of the Pacific Prep series which must be read in order。 Brutal Lies picked up exactly where Broken Trust left off。 Hadley continues to fight her demons and stand up for herself in a way that is truly admirable。 Not many people could go through what she did and come out strong enough to continue fighting as she has， and we don't even know the true extent of the abuse she suffered yet。 Cam needs to get his act together， he is not doing anyone any favors with his pity party。 West and Mason have stepped up their game in a big way and I love it。 I am warming up to Beck， I know that he hasn't really done anything that screams untrustworthy but I know he is hiding things from Hadley and the guys。 Hawk surprised me。 I am eagerly awaiting book 3 because I need to know what happens next！ 。。。more

Second book was even better！Oh my gosh I devoured the second book and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it！ Some truths were revealed and we get to see some progress in Hadley’s relationship with most of the guys。 I’m also proud of Hadley for slowly opening up to other people despite her difficult past。 I super love the interactions with her brother。 Hadley is one tough girl and she’s used to being independent but I’m now curious as to how she will deal with her past demons now that she ha Second book was even better！Oh my gosh I devoured the second book and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it！ Some truths were revealed and we get to see some progress in Hadley’s relationship with most of the guys。 I’m also proud of Hadley for slowly opening up to other people despite her difficult past。 I super love the interactions with her brother。 Hadley is one tough girl and she’s used to being independent but I’m now curious as to how she will deal with her past demons now that she has people on her side。 I also liked the guys better in this book because they were more vocal about their feelings for Hadley （although not all of them）。In a nutshell， I highly recommend this RH series。 My only concern was that book 2 ended too soon。 I still have so many questions left unanswered and there are still so many secrets to be revealed。 I’m so excited for the third book！ 。。。more

I feel……hungover。 I found myself delaying finishing the book， because I knew Pacific Prep would consume me wholly to spit me out thirsting for more。 Brutal Lies continues with Hadley and her men continuing to navigate through layers of secrets after such a revealing shock from the first book。 The storyline remains powerful and heart-wrenching， diving deep into sensitive topics。 Many questions from the first book are answered， but similar to the first book， there are layers still needing to be ex I feel……hungover。 I found myself delaying finishing the book， because I knew Pacific Prep would consume me wholly to spit me out thirsting for more。 Brutal Lies continues with Hadley and her men continuing to navigate through layers of secrets after such a revealing shock from the first book。 The storyline remains powerful and heart-wrenching， diving deep into sensitive topics。 Many questions from the first book are answered， but similar to the first book， there are layers still needing to be explored。 Words cannot describe the beauty of watching the character’s grow in this book。 Hadley is learning to open her heart for the first time and lower her defensive walls to give people the opportunity to care for her。 Hawk is learning how to accept things he cannot change and care for those he did not see coming。 The bathroom scene with Hadley and Hawk left me UGLY， UGLY crying。 Beck blew me out of the stratosphere when he said “I’m going to be on her side and have her back， because she’s never had someone be there for her like that before， and I’m sure as fu*k not about to let her down”。 *QUE STANDING OVATION IN MY HEAD* He wiped away any hesitancy or doubt I was having about his character。 Cam…my poor poor Cam。 Watching him navigate his whole world being flipped upside down and settled again hurt。 Mason and West…MASON AND WEST！！ I love seeing Mason’s sweet and soulful side come out with his interaction with Hadley while remaining this strong， brutal man with violence simmering under the surface with everyone else。 West stays the quiet， observant， and logical genius while showing you his secretive alpha dominant side。 I NEED more of his domineering and commanding persona。 The kitchen and the closet scenes WITH Mason was a ghost pepper on the spicy scale。 All the smut in this book had me hot and bothered。I am counting down the days until I am pulled back into the world of Pacific Prep。 This series is definitely a top favorite I know I will come back to over and over again and will never forget。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 This plot has me discombobulated and I need a nap。 First of all， Mason is everything and I will fight。 He's been such a rock in this book and he's the perfect soft for Hadley。 West has always been a great guy and even though he throws a fit in this one he still kept to his integrity。 Cam has me so worried， like， he's unhinged。 Hawk has made some serious progress and I'm loving it。This series is great so far and it's kept me intrigued。 There's a lot going on that keeps us on our toes and flipping This plot has me discombobulated and I need a nap。 First of all， Mason is everything and I will fight。 He's been such a rock in this book and he's the perfect soft for Hadley。 West has always been a great guy and even though he throws a fit in this one he still kept to his integrity。 Cam has me so worried， like， he's unhinged。 Hawk has made some serious progress and I'm loving it。This series is great so far and it's kept me intrigued。 There's a lot going on that keeps us on our toes and flipping pages with lightning speed。 The waiting drives me nuts but I couldn't resist。 That all being said I've got some rougher thoughts on book two。 It might just be me but it made it a little harder to accept one of the characters， and it was iffy in book one anyway。 It might be a little spoily so stop here of you don't want that。 ***possible spoilers***Alright， I have to get this off my chest because it bothered me in both books。 Beck？ The way he came in so late in the first book already made it hard to connect， then the fact that he reads as predatory， it's seriously uncomfortable。 I tried to keep my mind open but he comes from nowhere and just developed his relationship with Hadley through her vulnerability while he was in a position of power over her。 It's textbook manipulation。 And maybe we're supposed to assume he's completely genuine and actually has some cosmic connection but I can't bring myself to accept it。 It's seems more like obsession。 I got over it somewhat towards the end of the book but then I got to the epilogue。。。walls firmly up when it comes to Beck。 Also the main character keeping secrets from the reader in a way that they're only revealed out of the blue is kind of weird。 Like， not even just a 'if he knew why I was really here' or 'they can never know' just something indicating a secret so it doesn't seem so slapped on there。 That was a bigger problem in book one， this time around it's touched on a little better。 I hope that makes sense。There's also Hadley who had me aggravated this time around， girl when you're caught cut the crap。 You look dumb with egg on your face saying you ain't been in the batter。 LOL she was particularly thick headed this time as well。 Bianca got to her for dumb reasons and she just kind of lost some of her ferocity。 She came across as a brat and not in a cute fun way。 Don't get me wrong， I LOVE Hadley， she's an excellent character。 She's probably written that way to show the degradation in her control and to give a stronger hold on the fact she needs to accept help from the boys。 If that's the case it was remarkably done。 This series has been so unique and I'm right here for all of it！ 。。。more

NOTE: It is important for you to read Book 1， BROKEN TRUST， before starting BRUTAL LIES。 You will be lost if you don’t。Hadley’s plans have totally changed。 In fact， there really isn’t a plan anymore。 She’s just trying to get by without Lawrence getting his hands on her while at the same time make a connection with her new brother and the boys she’s falling in love with。 The problem， like before， is that there are still too many secrets。 The boys don’t feel like they can tell Hadley everything th NOTE: It is important for you to read Book 1， BROKEN TRUST， before starting BRUTAL LIES。 You will be lost if you don’t。Hadley’s plans have totally changed。 In fact， there really isn’t a plan anymore。 She’s just trying to get by without Lawrence getting his hands on her while at the same time make a connection with her new brother and the boys she’s falling in love with。 The problem， like before， is that there are still too many secrets。 The boys don’t feel like they can tell Hadley everything their parents are involved in and what they will be expected to continue once they graduate。 Hadley still doesn’t trust them enough to tell them where she spent her childhood and how she has the specific skills she has。However， Hadley understands that she has to give the boys more， so she reveals how she knows Lawrence and what he expects from her。 This leads to the first crack in Hawk’s shield。 And， after he saves her from an extremely dangerous situation， he’s willing to protect her at all cost。 But， poor Cam。 He’s eaten up with guilt over how he treated Hadley when he found out some of her secrets and after she reveals how she knows Lawrence， he can’t forgive himself and uses drinking to take away the guilt - only it doesn’t work。 It’s always there and Hadley can’t make him understand that she forgives him and the guys can’t reach him either。 He’s in a downward spiral for most of this book。BRUTAL LIES ends at the perfect place。 Hadley is pretty much a part of the group and in agreement with a plan they have in place to keep her safe。 Hawk has accepted her as his sister。 Cam has bounced back just a little。 Mason makes a stand for her by pretty much dismantling the “girl of the month” arrangement and West and Beck are attempting to get along - at least for Hadley’s sake。 Big things are coming in Book 3 and I can’t wait。 。。。more
